Open Source Software - a culture, more than mere software developing & implementation
Diana Cocoru will open the conference with the story of her personal encounter with open source software as an implemented solution for African Community grassroots, and her professional path of becoming a senior analyst who catalyses innovative thinking for the EU policy development around open source software, open standards, and open government. As Head of Policy and Research of Open Forum Europe, a think tank which promotes openness in ICT, she will also present the openness principles which guide the vision of OFE and which are equally reflected in the culture of open source software communities. Her intervention will also touch upon the status quo of OSS communities across Europe.
